How to join BigBlueButton Room from WordPress

A step by step guide to show how to join BigBlueButton Room from WordPress using Video conferencing with BBB plugin.

First thing first, login to your WordPress site dashboard from https://yourwpsite.com/wp-admin and search “bbb” in Plugins -> Add New. Install and activate Video Conferencing with BigBlueButton (BBB)

Once the plugin is active you will see a new menu on the left sidebar as BBB Rooms. This is the plugin menu click BBB Rooms -> Add New to create your first BBB Room on WordPress

• Add your Room title on the top and add your preferred description below the title.
• The plugin auto-generates the access codes for the moderator and viewer, however, you have the option to change the access codes.
• If you want to enable recording for the room then check the Recordable box.
• If you want the participants to wait until the moderator joins the Room then check the Wait for Moderator box.
• Click Publish when you are done.

Now go back to the WP dashboard -> BBB Rooms. You will see the newly created BBB Room in the list. The Permalink is the room join page on the front end.
You can share the same link with your users to let them join your room.

If you want to set a different join page for this room then click on the Shortcode icon and you will be able to copy the shortcode for this room. Paste the shortcode on any page/post of your choice to turn that page to the room join page for this room.

From the WP Dashboard click Pages -> Add New and paste the shortcode that was copied from the All Rooms page. Now, this page will show the room join form.

The room join form will be displayed on the page where the shortcode was added. The user can enter their name and Access code for the room to join.
The moderator can also join the room from the same page with their Access code.

If the user is logged in to your WP site then, they will not see the Access code field and the name will be auto-filled with their login username. Therefore, only the join button will display for a logged-in user and they can directly enter the room by clicking the Join button.
